Several years ago we replaced a bow window with Centennial, and we have been very happy with them. We have noticed a big change in our heating and cooling bills. Can I install a bow window in any room in my house?
This style is a beautiful addition to any home, however, there are limitations to where they can be installed because they project out from the exterior wall of your home. If you are looking to install a new bow window where one does not currently exist, you must make sure that you have adequate clearance on the outside of your home for the unit’s support system. If you already have one in your home, there shouldn’t be any problems upgrading it to a newer, more energy efficient model.
Do bow windows have screens?
Traditionally manufactured from a combination of fixed and operational styles, any operational styles used will have screens. Casement screens are on the inside of your home, and double hung screens are on the outside. Whichever style you choose, you can easily remove the screens from the inside of your home for cleaning.
How big should a bow window be?
Two considerations when determining the size are the number of windows — the minimum being four — that you would like in the opening, and their styles. Also, the styles you choose will have minimum size requirements, so be sure to book and in-home consultation to ensure that these specifications are being taken into consideration.

Bow windows are made of four or more windows that are most often a combination of fixed and operational styles. They form a slight curve as they project away from the exterior wall of the home. Bay windows are constructed from three windows — usually a fixed style in the centre with operational ones on either side. With standard construction, they come together to form two 45⁰ angles.
